Jinx Jeffers much prefers the  label panhandler to bum.  Afterall, anyone can be a bum, but a panhandler…that takes a certain charm and skillset.  Not everyone can do this “job” he’s happy to tell you.   As the only bu-, uh, panhandler in his small New England town, Jinx is practically a landmark in the shopping district.  Known for his ever changing sign, Jinx’s disposition almost always cheery, despite having lost his two legs above the knee on a freak shark hunting expedition.  Or was it to frostbite while climbing Everest?  The story changes quite frequently.
