There it is folks, the end of Chapter Three.
This Felix/ Faith confrontation scene is one of my favorites. Sometimes the “truth” about why things didn’t work out doesn’t come out until way after the fact. And when you’ve loved someone, “issues” can hang around for months and months.
Heavy stuff in the last few pages, I know. Chapter Four is gonna put a smile on a lot of your faces, though.
Thanks for reading.
Saving...

Faith: I want you to be happy, Felix! Let me help you by twisting this knife in your back.
Felix: BLAAARRRGGHHH!
Faith: Oh, that must mean it’s working!
I was actually suspecting Faith left Felix because he seems to have no sense of self and relies wholly on her to confirm his worth as a human being. I mean, for the most part, we’ve only seen him AFTER Faith broke up with him, but the way he fixates on her after the break-up and abandons everything else in his life doesn’t exactly imply a healthy mindset.
Interesting analysis, Marie. You’re right…so far, we’ve mostly seen Felix still reeling from the break up. Having been rejected by the woman he loved definitely was a blow to his confidence. We’ve never had a glimpse of Felix Pre-Faith. (That’s actually coming in the next chapter.) It’s easy to lose oneself in a relationship, and even easier to lose oneself in a tough breakup. Reclaiming one’s self…getting back to good…getting one’s mojo back…hell, that’s a major theme of “Over.” At it’s heart, this is a comeback story.
Good to hear we’ll get to see him grow from this, rather than stay where he is. I imagine it’ll be very heartening to read.
Dude doesn’t get it yet.
