Couldn’t NOT have a comic convention scene in this book, now could I?
And I had to poke a little fun at people who dress up to go to cons here. Of course, I love those guys. They make the shows fun. And, as you can see, when Skate is in professional mode, his sketches are are lot more flattering than the last time we saw him sketching.
BTW: When I wrote the script, the New England Comic-Con was a fictional show. Since then, one of the long running Boston area shows has been renamed the New England Comic-Con, and was recently purchased by Wizard’s Gareb Shamus.
Saving...

Ask me about the time I saw a girl at a con dressed as Mary Marvel.
She had an apron. No, not the kind made out of fabric.
*chuckles* things I have thought myself, but held my tongue.
