There’s some inside comics and convention humor here…
- Many conventions try to draw in bigger crowds with celebrities. However, sometimes the choice in “celebrities” is a little suspect. Ahem, Gary Coleman. (Who, by the way, is having an AWFUL couple of weeks. Didn’t mean to hit you when you’re down Gary. Wait…he’s always down…cause he’s little…I’ll stop.)
- There’s a love/hate relationship with comics and Hollywood. Hancock was a super hero movie that DIDN’T come from a comic book. (And should have been SO much better.)
- “Con funk” is the result of packing thousands of comic book fans in a windowless convention hall for hours on end…even if you’ve never been to a comic convention, I’m sure you can imagine it.
