Sound advice from a dirty bum. I’ve been wondering. Why is the comic done in that bluish tint. Is this suppose to be like a flashback of hard times? His comic is clearly black and white. I never actually gave it any thought until I saw the radiance of the fire.
Here was my approach to color… “Over” was always meant to be a 3x’s a week till it’s done online graphic novel. To achieve that, I realized at most I could do was grayscale the pages. But when playing around with the art, I decided to drop a color tone over the grays, to give each scene some visual distinction.
So it opens with a cold blue for the break-up which happens during the winter. Then we jump forward 6 months, and it’s bright outside, but cold grey inside where Felix is. Later on, I gave the bar scene a green tint, and a few other scenes had distinct flavors as well. And on this latest page, I switched it up Jules, giving the fire a very simple warm color glow, to contrast with the dark blue of night.
Now, Mazoku, because I have flashbacks/scenes from Felix’s “Over” interwoven into this story (don’t recommend them…pain in the ass, btw) I chose to have those be done in black and white. So, for example, Monday’s page, a flashback to the beginning of Felix’s “Over,” his initial success as a comic writer, and his “cute meet” with Faith, will be done in Black and White.
So, the basic rule of thumb, if the page is Black and White, it’s a flashback/scene from Felix’s “Over.” If it’s a toned page, it’s in the present.

Ah, Jinx. So agonizingly honest. Don’t ever change.
That said, what mojo are you pulling in the colors on this page? Are you throwing in little hints of brown over the blues or is my screen broken?
Hey guys, thanks for the comments.
