Commission help from elsewhere? What a novel fricking idea! Why the hell didn’t he do this two chapters ago?? Brainstorming against someone else is the only way I know to break writer’s block.
Brainstorming with a fellow creative certainly is a good way to break through on a story, Jules. Of course, Felix didn’t really give much of a shit about “Pendragon” until recently. The thought never even occurred to him.
I don’t know about anyone else but that last panel gives me a slight case of the heebie jeebies. It’s triumphant and celebratory but there is this predatory hint. Not that I’m saying Gwen has any evil designs or anything it’s just yeah that hint gives me a slight case of the HJ.
You can’t write a love story with a broken heart, but you can’t write a GOOD love story while you spend time with your crush. Everything’s too intense, too melodramatic. Gwen’s cat is named Kirby? Not that we didn’t figure it out a long time ago, but doesn’t that make it a little too obvious?
You know Steven, it’s about time SOMEBODY commented on the Kirby thing.
Honestly, it was a judgment call on my part. I considered some readers would groan and think it’s a bit too much…while others would enjoy it as a little in-joke. (And I’m sure there are plenty of my readers who have NO idea what we’re talking about here.)
As for being too melodramatic and too intense, well, hey, it is what it is. There are some twists and turns coming up though, so I hope you’ll stick with us.

Heh. Just wait until you see what Gwen has up her sleeve, Thomas.
…all I thought was ‘aaaawww yeeeah’… am I misreading this?
Ethel,
I agree with you. I am excited to see what Gwen has in mind for Felix. It’s time for some creative motivation…
