What follows is a transcript of a short chat I had with a reader taking umbrage with yesterday’s game changing page of Over:
iheartgwen: We need to discuss gwens submissive nature in the bedroom that comes across subtly in todays page.. as a solid gwen fan, i’m disappointed. i expected more of her.
Tyler: Submissive nature?
iheartgwen: yea
iheartgwen: why did she let felix take off all of her clothes and he’s stilly fully clothed
Tyler: She kept the arm braces on. 
iheartgwen: whatever
Tyler: Well, let’s be honest, that costume was gonna fall off easy and she’s starting on his shirt as they move to the bedroom
iheartgwen: i dotn care
iheartgwen: how often do you get a girl completely naked without taking off any of your clothes?
Tyler: Heh. It’s happened.
iheartgwen: whatever. gwen would have been more in control
Tyler: And you know when it’s happened? Halloween.
iheartgwen: lol
Tyler: Those nursemaids outfits are off WAY before whatever elaborate, ridiculous costume I might have on even comes close to hitting the floor.
iheartgwen: hah
iheartgwen: gwens too cool for that
Tyler: Since when is gettin’ naked not cool?
iheartgwen: yea
iheartgwen:fine
iheartgwen: but she’d take his clothes off. gwens in control. she wouldnt be so submissive
iheartgwen: esp since you just told us the costume empowered her
Tyler: But she wasn’t in control…on the previous page, she had given Felix her best shot…he didn’t take the bait. She resigned herself to leaving, and then, BAM! Felix mans up
Tyler: So, she was caught off guard
Tyler: And the costume fell off.
iheartgwen: But she was in control. She gave felix 3.5 seconds to take the bait and then ran out to make him wanting more. She was in control enough to say gbye to stan lee
Tyler: Just because you’re currently in a fight for the hand in your man-relationships, doesn’t mean it’s all about control for everyone else
Tyler: Methinks you’re projecting
iheartgwen: no
iheartgwen: its not about actually being in control
iheartgwen: i just think it implies that she’d let herself be taken
iheartgwen: she wants to see felix naked too
iheartgwen: the best hook ups are when the clothes both come over franticly
iheartgwen: BOTH WAYS
iheartgwen: girls make that happen
iheartgwen: or at least some girls do
Tyler: Ha. Well, I guess this won’t be one of the best hook ups
iheartgwen: lol
iheartgwen: im just saying
Tyler: And I reiterate…she kept her arm braces on
iheartgwen: LOL
iheartgwen: regardless, im glad felix gets laid
Tyler: Amen to that
Without getting too personal here, I’d just like to say that just because a woman is strong, self-assured and in control In her everyday life doesn’t mean she can’t choose to let the guy take the lead in the bedroom. It DOESN’T mean she’s weak or submissive if she let’s him take her. It just means she wants a good, hard ravaging because it’s fun. Lots and lots of fun. Lots and lots and lots of – okay I think you get my drift.
We’ve got one vote for good hard ravaging.

It’s time for something spicy…. just hope it doesn’t end poorly.
I think the question that begs to be discussed here is, is there really a clothing to dominance ratio? And if so, what other factors influence the magnitude of the dominance?
Perhaps being more naked makes one more vulnerable, but everyone varies in their comfort level being naked in general, and with certain partners, and in certain situations. And the perception of one person being more naked may be interpreted differently by the participants; one or both may read into it, one or both may pay it no mind.
Perhaps Gwen feints submission in order to lure Felix in so she can come out dominate. Or maybe Felix was being a gentleman by attending to her needs first. Or maybe neither of them really care, her outfit was just easier to remove.
I don’t think this is as black-and-white as the contender implies. And especially in light of the next page, Felix seems much more unsure of himself than Gwen while they settle into bed.
regardless of what clothing on/off means, I have to agree that I thought it was weird that one was fully naked & the other still fully clothed – & it would have been just the same if it was the other way round.
