After inheriting the family accounting firm he’d worked at all his life, Tony sold the business and followed a lifelong dream- to open his own comic book publishing company.  Though lacking artistic or creative talent, Tony has been the ultimate fanboy since his first trip to a comic shop one magical Wednesday 40 years earlier.

Fire of the Pendragon, Felix Hughes epic fantasy tale, was the first comic Tony signed, and after two years of slow and steady growth, Pendragon is a bona fide indy comics success story.   Unfortunately, Blam!‘s other comic properties, including Hero Squad and Terror Watch, have yet to duplicate Pendragon‘s success.

With the twelfth issue of Pendragon now two month’s late and Felix still yet to produce even an outline of the script, Tony seems to be losing what little hair he has left on his balding dome.  Pendragon #12 is the penultimate issue, completing the very popular “Curse of the Elven Gauntlet” storyline.  Tony had plans to collect the first twelve issue volume of Pendragon into a gorgeous, oversized hard cover to have in stores by Christmas, but that window is fading fast.

So, there’s only one thing on his mind…”Where the hell is the script, Felix?!!”

Of course, they haven’t seen much of Felix lately.  Not since, well, not since his girlfriend Faith moved out.  She was cool, too.  Made killer chocolate chip cookies.  Oh well.   The boys are sure they’ll hang with Felix again soon.  Maybe he’ll want to toss the ball around with them?

For example, there used to be two big ones living with him, the tall one with the stinky socks, and the pretty one who always smelled like flowers.  Now, it’s just him and Stinky Socks, and he doesn’t know why.

He used to get walks three times a day.  His food dish and water bowl were always full.  Life was good.

But for what seems like forever, Stinky Socks spends all his time at his table.  Stan Lee’s not sure what he does up there exactly, but one thing’s for sure, he’s not paying much attention to him.

Stan is seriously considering running away.  Now, if only he could learn how to turn a door knob…

Again.

But this time, it’s the real thing.  It has to be.  So what if it’s only been six months since she got out of her last relationship?  Blake Sterling is the man of her dreams, her knight in shining armor.  After all, he’s smart (a lawyer!), successful (drives a Lexus!), funny (does THE BEST Borat impression!) and handsome (So. F’ing.  Gorgeous!)  And what’s more he’s crazy about her and has big dreams for their future together.

In fact, it was Blake’s idea that Faith run for the open seat on their local town council.  After all, she’s a well-liked and respected member of the community, serving for several years as a teacher and now Assistant Principal at the Blue Ridge Elementary School.

Everything is falling into place…

A lifelong comics fan and aspiring creator, getting “Pendragon” published two years ago was a dream come true for Felix.  And to make things even better, shortly after his first issue was released, he met Faith Robbins. Beautiful, smart, funny…everything he had ever been looking for in a woman.  He found “The One.”

Or so he thought.

It’s been more than six months since Faith left him.  Felix has been cooped up in his house, not returning calls from his friends, family, or even Skate, his artist partner on “Pendragon.” Instead, he’s been working on a passion project.  And much to the dismay of Tony Tuttle, his publisher at Blam!,  the project is not the script for the now two month’s late twelfth issue of  “Fire of the Pendragon.”

As Felix prepares to finish the final page of his masterpiece, he’s confident his life is about to change.  And he’s right.  Just not in the way he expects…
